George is a board-certified educator. His scope of teaching encompasses project-based learning, lifelong learning, differentiated instruction and student engagement. George has worked as a Theatre Arts/Art teacher in Houston, Texas where he was also a school leader. George experienced great satisfaction in his work with students as this is where his passion and love working creatively with students started. George has 11 years of working as an educator working in different areas, including San Francisco at Summit Schools, Los Angeles at UCLA for the National Society for the Gifted & Talented and Harmony Schools in Dallas, TX.

He is bilingual in English and Spanish, and holds a Bachelor's degree, (BA in Elementary Education); and in order to fulfill and address the needs in his work as a school leader, George completed a Master's of Arts in Education Administration and Leadership at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. He also just completed teaching for the MoCADA Museum in Brooklyn, NY where he taught Graphic Design/Art and Culture Interpretation where he received a strong practical foundation in the arts for the kind of holistic approach to learning that George feels is critical to student success.

His hobbies are working out, traveling, trying new foods and being a dad to his two poodles Paris and Brooklyn. He also has a passion for acting. He’s appeared in film and theatre productions in the Los Angeles area and in the new upcoming web series “Art of the Hustle”, to name just a few. He’s also involved in upcoming productions and most importantly he loves ART & ACTING!

Graphic design is more than throwing together clip art and different fonts and colors.  It is creative problem solving through design thinking.  Graphic designers work to take the confines of societal acceptability and make it a beautiful part of our every day visual landscape with the intention of influencing individual and group behavior, political policy, and even society.

In this class we will explore the design process with Canva at its most basic to intermediate level to solve design problems through visual communication. My art gallery

• Use thumbnail drawings to create a variety of ideas

• Through virtual interaction, students will determine which of their ideas are the best

• Make roughs

• Make a final comp

El diseño gráfico es más que unir imágenes prediseñadas y diferentes fuentes y colores. Es la resolución creativa de problemas a través del pensamiento de diseño.
