How to Read a Movie: Understanding the Complexity of Cinema Filmmaking

New York
  • Price: 30 $
  • Language: English
  • Duration: 2 Hours

Are you a real cinephile? Are you a filmmaker? Or do you simply love to gobbling popcorn, sitting in a dark movie theatre, diving into the world of fiction? If you are interested in learning about how to see film in its complexity, how to read its specific language, how to understand its symbols, themes and messages then you are at the right place. During the course of my classes we will talk about both classical American and art house movies, genius filmmakers and their favorite subject matters, different ways how to express yourself and create your own world as a filmmaker. We will watch clips together, have brainstorming sessions and center our classes around filmmakers from across the globe. Moreover, we will watch movies that I assign and discuss them in depth.

I am a film and stage director with an extensive background in film and the arts. For the past three years, I have been lucky enough to collaborate with other creatives on movies, commercials, music videos, off-Broadway and comedy shows, musicals, dance shows and summer festivals in Italy, Hungary and in the USA. Currently, I reside in Brooklyn.
